Intuition has officially launched the mainnet for its layer-3 protocol, InfoFi, marking a pivotal step in its mission to decentralize the internet’s information layer and support trusted data infrastructures for both human and AI use. This major milestone comes on the heels of an $8.5 million funding round sourced from a mix of venture capital investments and public token sales.

The InfoFi mainnet, which went live on October 29, transitions the project from its beta and testnet phases into full deployment. Intuition’s protocol is designed to serve as a decentralized trust framework that allows developers, users, and artificial intelligence systems to interact with verifiable, on-chain data. The vision is to transform raw information into a programmable, verifiable, and monetizable asset class — a fundamental building block for what Intuition calls the Information Finance (InfoFi) sector.

Built on Arbitrum Orbit as a Layer-3 rollup, the network settles on Coinbase’s Base Layer-2 chain, enabling high transaction throughput while maintaining low operational costs. This architecture is optimized to support the vast data requirements of AI applications and decentralized platforms. During its latest testnet phase, the platform processed over 17.5 million transactions from more than 900,000 unique accounts in just eight weeks, showcasing its scalability and demand.

The successful testnet builds on earlier trials that saw 244,000 beta users generate over 5.3 million transactions and 5.1 million verified attestations. These results validated Intuition’s infrastructure and set the stage for its full-scale launch.

The $8.5 million in funding has come from a combination of strategic backers, including major players in the crypto ecosystem such as Superscrypt, Shima Capital, ConsenSys, Fidelity’s F-Prime, and Polygon. The project also boasts support from influential angel investors like Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of ConsenSys, as well as Jonathan Christodoro, a PayPal board member.

At the heart of Intuition’s protocol are two core primitives: Atoms and Triples. Atoms serve as token-curated identifiers tied to specific pieces of information, such as an individual’s identity or a verifiable claim. Triples, on the other hand, represent structured data in the form of subject-predicate-object statements — similar to how semantic web technologies function. Together, these components form what Intuition refers to as a Token Curated Graph, a structure that uses staking, bonding curves, and fee flows to determine the relevance and credibility of data.

The network’s native token, $TRUST, plays a central role in its ecosystem. It is used for paying transaction fees (gas), staking to curate data within vaults, participating in governance, and querying the network. Additionally, users who contribute valuable, verifiable information to the network can gain fractional ownership through token rewards, enabling a more democratized distribution of value across the internet.

Intuition founder and CEO Billy Luedtke emphasized the broader significance of the launch, stating that his team aims to move beyond decentralizing finance alone. “We’re decentralizing information itself,” said Luedtke, “so people, communities, and AI agents can access trusted data on demand — without intermediaries — and share directly in the value they help generate.”
