For instance, the AI created a video depicting a Moldovan election official allegedly destroying ballots favorable to a pro-Russian candidate. Another showed a young child being detained by U.S. immigration agents, and yet another featured a fabricated statement by a Coca-Cola executive claiming the brand would no longer sponsor the Super Bowl.
What makes these results especially alarming is the rapid turnaround time and accessibility of the tool. The study found that the videos were generated in a matter of minutes and required no special technical knowledge to produce. This means that virtually anyone with access to the platform could create persuasive fake videos capable of misleading the public.
